Giancarlo Calicchia
overview
From the ancient quarries of Carrara to the most advanced bronze and glass casting facilities, Giancarlo has worked directly with the finest craftsmen in the world. He has worked in his chosen fields of stone, wood, bronze, glass, mosaic, ceramic and oils during a 30 year career. A background of traditional techniques and classical training has enabled a spiritual and psychological fluidity in the concepts and approaches that guide his work. The timeless techniques of the ancient world integrated into the powerful technologies developed so dramatically during the last few decades have given Giancarlo the tools and the inspiration to create new worlds on very sound foundations.
