Richard Warrington
overview
A diverse impressionistic sculptor, I design and build two- and three-dimensional hollow form and silhouette sculptures. As an artist, my work is an expression of my spiritual, emotional and aesthetic response to my experiences. It is an intuitive and subjective reaction to my environment. My designs are bold and rhythmical. The use of color, buffed finishes and extreme attention to detail highlight my work. A professional sculptor for over 30 thirty years I specialize in one of a kind, and site specific and collaborated commission work. I also design and produce one-of-a-kind and limited edition works.

about the artist
A diverse impressionistic sculptor, I design and build two- and three-dimensional hollow form and silhouette sculptures. As an artist, my work is an expression of my spiritual, emotional and aesthetic response to my experiences. It is an intuitive and subjective reaction to my environment. My designs are bold and rhythmical. The use of color, buffed finishes and extreme attention to detail highlight my work. A professional sculptor for over 30 thirty years I specialize in one of a kind, and site specific and collaborated commission work. I also design and produce one-of-a-kind and limited edition works.
I started my creative career in 1966, attending college at Eastern Washington University, where I studied fine art. After two years, I decided I needed more focus, so I enrolled in a more structured program at Spokane Falls Community College. The design and advertising liberal arts degree that I received from SFCC has helped give me focus and also aided in marketing my work when I opened Warrington Studios and Gallery in July of 1971.
After a couple of years painting, I moved into sculpture. 1974 was the beginning of my commission work in sculpture when I did a composite piece for King Cole, the founder of the World’s Fair of 1974, in Spokane, Washington. During the fair, I was also approached by famous actor Chris Kristofferson about the high quality of my work. This was positive momentum to push me forward in my pursuit of greatness!
I closed the gallery in 1975 and went on to create commissions for country clubs, resort hotels, hospital, CEOs of corporations, banks, colleges, churches, and diverse businesses such as U-Haul and Tap Pharmaceutical. I also worked with large developers and continued to sell my pieces through major art galleries and design firms from coast to coast. My work has been collected by individuals, businesses, sculpture parks and banks both in the USA, Europe, Asia, South America and Canada.
