A native of Kildare in Ireland, Seán Conlon is a self-taught artist. Talented from a very young age, he was encouraged to draw and paint by his father. Later when he began to take his artwork more seriously, he began to exhibit and sell his work.
He studied many of the old masters firsthand while visiting the many great museums and galleries throughout Europe. Seán travelled to the South of France in 1985 and 1986 to paint in Collioure, a famous artists colony. There he met and worked with many different artists from all over Europe and America. Although only 23 years old, he received much praise and admiration for the quality and detail of his work from the public and many of his peers.
Seán has continued to exhibit in various solo and group exhibitions, selling the majority of his paintings to buyers from all over the world. Seán has since come to international attention through the launch of his website .
His paintings have graced the covers of numerous children’s books in the past. With the growing popularity of his paintings, Seán was represented in New York City in 2011 by Agora gallery in Chelsea and exhibited very successfully there in March 2012. He continues to paint and build a collection of his works for future exhibits.
