“A child can teach an adult three things: to be happy for no reason, to always be busy with something, and to know how to demand with all his might that which he desires.”
— Paulo Coelho

Taryn Dufault is an emerging illustrator that specializes in children’s art for books, games and apps. She graduated from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco with a BFA in traditional illustration. She uses technical skills in drawing, painting, and designing to bring life to ideas and communicate them effectively. Taryn excels in establishing emotional depth while creating engaging imagery and relatable storytelling. Her work has been chosen for display in the Academy of Art Annual Spring show in 2008 & 2009 as well as at the JAC “Green and Gold” show in San Francisco in 2009.

She recently completed an internship illustrating 2 children’s books for Think Active Now’s “Ready to Write” program and was also a featured artist/co-writer of the book “One Thousand and One” - a collection of illustrations themed from stories of “The Arabian Nights”. Taryn works both digitally and traditionally.

Taryn currently lives in Orange, CA with her husband and daughter. When not drawing and illustrating she inspires and instructs future artists (ages 5-12) through the use of fine art and illustration techniques.
